MCP: workflows
Prompts to try with the Maru MCP server: review a project, answer from the guides, learn from community modules, check a plug-in build and start a new project.
Once your agent is connected, ask in your own words; the agent picks the tools. These prompts are good starting points. Every project and build the agent reports carries a link: open it to check, because the page is the source of truth, not the summary.
Catch up on your work
What am I working on in Maru? List my projects by most recent change and give me the Studio link for each.
Understand a project
Explain how my Night Tape project works, from its source: the signal path, the parameters, and where the feedback amount is set. Show the lines.
Review before you change
Search my synth project for every place the filter cutoff is read or set. Then tell me what I would need to change to add a keytracking amount.
Answer from the guides
How do I add a parameter with a preset-safe default to a module? Read the Maru guide first and quote the part you rely on.
Learn from the community
Find published granular instruments in the Maru community. Pick the most remixed one with open source and show me how it schedules its grains.
Choose building blocks
Which Maru DSP nodes could I combine for a stereo chorus? List their parameters and suggest a signal path.
Check a plug-in build
Did my latest plug-in build finish? Which formats can I install, and if a build failed, what was the error? Give me the dashboard link.
Start something new
Show me the effect templates and suggest one for a tape delay. Then create a Studio project from it called Night Tape 2.
Hand off to your checkout
Find my Night Tape project and read the module-authoring guide. Then, with the local maru mcp server, make the repeats darker as they fade and run maru module check.
The last prompt uses both servers: the remote one for the project and the
guide, and the local maru mcp server for the edit and the check. In a coding
agent, npx maruaudio mcp install --both adds both, and
npx maruaudio skill install adds the agent skill, which tells the agent how
to check, build and verify with the CLI. See
