About

Lunar Modulator is an open research project built on Mutable Instruments engines and a Movy-style sequencer. It has never been written to a unit, but its virtual FM-1 runs in the browser and its documents map much of the reverse-engineering work.

It also includes the RP2040 USB_KEY dongle design used for ROM recovery.

Coming after hardware verification. Maru will offer installs only after its own installer has completed a full install and restore on a physical M-VAVE FM-1, and only for open-source releases whose authors have been told.

  • Rescue: none documented for this firmware.
  • If something goes wrong, follow the recovery ladder.
  • Not installable: nothing has been flashed to a unit yet.
