Bring Maru a specific audio question or a custom product problem: making a model playable, testing an expressive controller or improving an authoring workflow. A collaboration can produce an experiment, a reusable tool or an integrated product; agree which result you need before work begins.

## Choose a concrete question

A model team could explore a playable interface and a useful evaluation task. An audio company could investigate one part of authoring or delivery. An artist could test an interaction that expresses their performance practice.

Define what you need to learn and the smallest example that could answer it. A research prototype, a user-facing beta and a maintained commercial product have different completion criteria.

## Agree contributions and ownership

Discuss the source material, model or technology each party contributes; rights to use and redistribute it; confidentiality; attribution; and any publication plans. Separate existing intellectual property from the work produced together.

Identify who maintains the result after the pilot and whether its intended output is a report, reusable tool, integrated feature or product. [Maintaining your products](https://maruaudio.com/help/maintaining-your-products.md) covers the ongoing user relationship.

## Connect research to use

For generative systems, evaluate musical usefulness as well as speed and technical quality. [Generation in instruments and apps](https://maruaudio.com/help/generation-in-your-products.md) explains the choices users encounter.

For physical or interactive systems, start with the exact [hardware](https://maruaudio.com/help/hardware-and-controllers.md) or [game and creative host](https://maruaudio.com/help/game-audio-and-creative-tools.md). Name each application or device you want to reach so the project includes the integration and testing it needs.

## Begin the conversation

[Contact Maru](https://maruaudio.com/contact) with the question, intended users, available material and desired outcome. Include the target environment, timing, budget constraints and whether you want to publish the findings. Share a description first if the work involves confidential recordings, models or source code. Research access, delivery commitments and commercial terms are agreed for the project. Use [teams and organizations](https://maruaudio.com/help/enterprise.md) to prepare the broader scope.
